🦅 Director of Hockey Operations Zachary Pearson Hires Head Coach Pier Martin

The Ostrava Steelhawks are proud to announce that Director of Hockey Operations Zachary Pearson has officially named Pier Martin as the team’s new Head Coach.

With an extensive background in player development and a reputation for building competitive, high-character teams, Martin brings leadership, energy, and a clear vision for success as the Steelhawks prepare for their debut in the new European league.

“I decided to join Ostrava because I was immediately drawn to the vision behind the new league — it represents something fresh and ambitious for European hockey. I believe in the ownership group and their genuine commitment to making this program a success. Ostrava is a true hockey city with a strong tradition and a great school that fully supports this initiative. Most importantly, I see an opportunity to make a real difference here — to help build something from the ground up and create a program that players and the community can be proud of.”

Martin’s coaching philosophy emphasizes discipline, structure, and development — qualities that align perfectly with the Steelhawks’ mission to establish a sustainable, competitive program that reflects the pride and passion of Ostrava hockey.

“From the beginning, Pier’s enthusiasm and understanding of what we’re building stood out,” said Zachary Pearson, Director of Hockey Operations. “He believes in our long-term vision, our commitment to developing players the right way, and our goal of becoming a model organization in European hockey. He’s the right leader to guide this team as we take flight.  Pier Has coached all over the world and were excited that he will bring his expertise and philosophies to the Steelhawks.”
