Ostrava Steel Hawks Add Canadian Goaltender Glen McInnes to Inaugural Roster

OSTRAVA, Czechia – The Ostrava Steel Hawks are excited to announce the commitment of goaltender Glen McInnes from Quinte West, Ontario, Canada, for the 2026-27 season.

McInnes joins the Steel Hawks after developing through the Canadian junior hockey system, bringing a relentless work ethic, strong character, and a commitment to continuous improvement. A dedicated competitor, Glen is known for his passion for the game and his drive to reach the professional level while pursuing a university education.

"I chose the Steel Hawks because it aligned with my ambitions—education and hockey," said McInnes. "My goal is to play hockey at a professional level while furthering my education at a highly respected university. The Ostrava Steel Hawks provide the tools and opportunities necessary to achieve both of those goals in a competitive environment."

Born and raised in Quinte West, Ontario, McInnes has dedicated his life to hockey since first putting on the goalie pads at just six years old. Away from the rink, he enjoys golfing, spending time outdoors, and training in the gym, always looking for ways to improve both as an athlete and as a person.

"My passion for hockey started at a very young age," McInnes added. "When I'm not outdoors, you'll usually find me at the rink or in the gym, constantly working to become the best version of myself on and off the ice. I'm super excited to get started in September."

Hockey Director Zac Pearson believes McInnes will be an excellent fit for the Steel Hawks' inaugural season.

"Glen embodies everything we're looking for in a Steel Hawk," said Pearson. "He's a hardworking, disciplined goaltender who is committed to improving every single day. His mindset, professionalism, and dedication to both academics and hockey make him an outstanding addition to our program. We believe Glen has tremendous upside, and we're excited to help him continue his development as he pursues his dream of playing professional hockey."
