A new era of college hockey is coming to Europe.
The European Union College Hockey League (EUCHL) will officially begin play in October 2026, giving student-athletes from around the world the opportunity to earn a degree, play competitive hockey, and experience Europe — all in one journey.

🌍 A New Path for College Hockey Players

For decades, college hockey opportunities have centered around the NCAA. But with changing NCAA rules and limited roster spots, thousands of talented players now face fewer opportunities to play at the next level.

The EUCHL fills that gap — offering a North American-style college hockey experience across Europe’s top university cities, including Prague, Ostrava, Vienna, Bratislava, and Łódź.

“The EUCHL combines high-level academics, international hockey, and real-world opportunity,” said league member Zachary Pearson.
“Players can continue their education, compete against strong programs, and live in some of Europe’s most vibrant cities.”

🎓 Academics That Match North America

Each EUCHL team is partnered with an accredited English-speaking university that follows the same academic structure as U.S. and Canadian schools.

  • Earn your Bachelor’s degree in three years or Master’s in five.

  • 529 college savings plans can be used toward tuition.

  • Courses taught in English by international faculty.

💰 Affordable and Transparent

The EUCHL offers one of the most affordable college hockey experiences in the world — without sacrificing quality.

Total annual cost: $16,000-$20,000 USD, which includes:

  • Tuition and housing

  • Hockey fees and travel

  • Equipment (including sticks and apparel)

🏒 The European Hockey Experience

Imagine playing college hockey in historic arenas, surrounded by passionate fans and professional clubs.

EUCHL programs are hosted in or near major professional arenas, giving players direct exposure to European scouts and teams. Games will be scheduled in partnership with pro organizations to maximize visibility and competition.
