Ostrava Steel Hawks Add NCAA Division I-Caliber Forward Declan Bowmaster
Steel Hawks Land High-End Forward Declan Bowmaster
OSTRAVA, Czech Republic — The Ostrava Steel Hawks have made a major statement with the addition of Declan Bowmaster, a dynamic forward who arrives in Ostrava after being recruited by NCAA Division I programs and previously committing to a Division I school before becoming a casualty of recent NCAA rule changes.
Bowmaster brings an elite offensive skill set built on high-end hockey IQ, speed, and a dangerous quick release. A confident play-driver, he thrives with the puck on his stick and has the ability to control the pace of the game while creating scoring chances.
“I chose the Ostrava Steel Hawks because it gives me the opportunity to further my education while playing hockey at a high level with real opportunities for advancement,” said Bowmaster. “Getting the chance to play in Europe, experience the culture, and grow both on and off the ice made this an easy decision.”
“I play a skilled, confident game and love controlling play with the puck,” he added. “I’m excited to bring scoring, size, flash, and talent to the Steel Hawks.”
Steel Hawks Director of Scouting Zac Pearson emphasized both Bowmaster’s impact and what his commitment represents for the club and league.
“Declan is a difference-maker,” said Pearson. “He was recruited and committed at the NCAA Division I level, and bringing a player of his caliber in the early stages of our recruiting process sends a clear message. This is the level of talent that will compete in the EUCHL, and this is the type of player who will call the Ostrava Steel Hawks home for the next 3 years. He is having a great year in the OJHL with the Collingwood Blues averaging close to a point a game”
