STEEL HAWKS SIGN SWEDISH DEFENSEMAN OLIWER LUNDBERG
The Ostrava Steel Hawks are thrilled to announce the addition of Oliwer Lundberg to the program for the upcoming season.
A 6'2", 209-pound left-shot defenseman from Sweden, Lundberg brings a strong blend of size, mobility, and international experience to the Steel Hawks blue line. He has competed in both North American junior hockey and Sweden’s Division 2, giving him a well-rounded background that fits perfectly into the EUCHL, a league comparable in level of play to NCAA Division III.
Lundberg will continue his university education in Ostrava while competing at a high level, embracing the Steel Hawks’ model of development on the ice and in the classroom.
🗣️ Lundberg on joining the Steel Hawks:
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to play hockey in Europe while continuing my education. It’s a great chance to grow both on the ice and in the classroom, which is very important to me. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, and challenging myself in new ways. I can’t wait to get started and make the most of this new journey.”
🦅 Director of Scouting Zac Pearson on Lundberg:
“Oliwer is exactly the type of defenseman we look for—big, mobile, and comfortable playing in multiple systems. He’s played in both North America and Sweden, which gives him a maturity and adaptability that translates well to our league. Beyond that, he’s highly motivated academically and understands what it means to be a student-athlete. We believe he has the tools to make an immediate impact and continue to grow within our program.”
The Steel Hawks are excited to welcome Oliwer to Ostrava and look forward to seeing his impact both on the ice and off it.
Welcome to the Steel Hawks, Oliwer!
